Tea Ceremony of Soko-ki at Sangenin in Daitoku-ji temple 2018

We held a tea ceremony to remember the death of Ueda Soko who is the founder of Ueda Soko Ryu at Daitokuji temple in Kyoto. Daitokuji temple has 700 years of history and is one of the largest scale Zen temples in Kyoto. It is also known to possess many important cultural assets. In this tea party, after a Buddhist prayer was first offered to Ueda Soko, we acted kaiseki cusine (Japanese traditional tea cuisine) and tea for 200 people concerned. I managed the site as a chief serving kaiseki cusine to the guests.
