I held a tea ceremony of Kangetsu at the Saikokuji temple in Hiroshima. Saikokuji temple has a history of 1,300 years and is widely known as one of the most authoritative temples in temples in western Japan. It is also famous for possessing important cultural assets of many countries. In Japan there is a traditional event to view the moon called Kangetsu every September. It is an event that appreciates the harvest of rice for that year and has a history of more than 1300 years. It is customary to decorate white Japanese sweet dumpling balls in a pyramid shape. They are made from rice flour harvested at that time, therefore people offer them to express gratitude for a good harvest.
