# Yoshitsugu Nagano — Japanese Tea Ceremony in New York

- Weekly tea ceremony classes at two locations:
  - Saturdays — Globus Tea Room, 889 Broadway, Manhattan, New York, NY 10003
  - Mondays — Japan Village, 934 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232
- Beginners start with a ten-lesson foundation course in bon-temae (tray-style
  tea). No experience or Japanese language needed. $60 per lesson
  (members $50); classes are taught in English.
- Study continues to advanced levels: seasonal temae, koicha (thick tea),
  charcoal, chaji (the full gathering), and certificates (menjo) through the
  Ueda Sōko tradition, up to a teaching licence.
- Public events: hands-on matcha workshops and seasonal tea gatherings, open
  to everyone.
- Press: Oprah Daily, BBC Reel, abc7NY, Yahoo! JAPAN, and others.
- Since arriving in New York in 2019: over 150 tea ceremonies and more than
  400 lectures.
- Chanoyu Week NYC is held annually each November.
